The medical director of the Port Sudan Maternity Hospital, Dr. Ahmad Abu Sen stated to Al Sahafa a daily Sudanese news paper the deaths of 4 pregnant women as result of rift valley haemorrhagic fever during last April.
Dr Abu Sen attributed the emergence and spread of the disease to mosquitoes, and warned of the danger of the spread of the disease, health authorities and demanded immediate intervention to fight it under the terms of steadily rising during the last period.
Abu Sen told the press yesterday “when the first case of the disease notified the federal Department of Health epidemiologists, we announced the formation of specialist operations room to monitor and follow up new cases, the room under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health mandate, and will hold a meeting every week and demanded the intensification of mosquito spraying campaigns to reduce The spread of the disease.
”According to medical sources, the number of people infected with the mandate increasing, but the director of preventive medicine, Dr. Elfatih Elrabie announced the free mandate of hemorrhagic fever disease, stressing the stability of the health conditions in Red Sea state.
