Medical Council

New measures and procedures to control and organize the work of non-Sudanese consultants and specialists visiting Sudan

The  Sudan Medical Council revealed tendency to impose new controlling measures  and procedures to organize the work of consultants and specialists visiting the country,

 

 

The Council stated that those acts come after observation of the emerge of irregularities and disadvantages associated with their practice in the Sudan and the operations conducted by the visiting doctors.

 

 

In a press statement Dr. Imam Siddig,  the Secretary General of the Council called  upon those who contract expatriates or visiting doctors that they need to coordinate with the Medical Council, to avoid the negative aspects and risks that may develop after the return of visiting doctor(s) to their homes leaving patients   without follow up.

 

 

The Medical council also emphasized the importance of  official registration of those visitors and examination of their documents.

Sudan Medical Council adopted punitive measures aginest 24 Doctors  the punitive measures ranged from temporal to final suspension.

 

the punitive measures came as result of complaints by citizens from medical errors in some public and private hospitals.

 

The Sudanese Medical Council  revealed a report by the Complaints Committee of the Medical Council signed by Dr Imam Siddig the Secretary General of the Council stating that most of the complaints received are the result of neglect, negligence, malpractice and Incompetence
